TDT 102 — Transportation Forms and Records 1

A course to acquaint the student with the various forms and records used in the Motor Carrier Industry such as the Drivers Daily Log, Vehicle Registration Forms, bills of lading, freight bills, mileage and fuel reports, and lease contracts.

TDT 103 — Transportation Law 1

A study of federal and state laws that regulate interstate and intrastate truck transportation. The course includes a current study of the law as it pertains to common, contract, and private carriers with emphasis on employer-employee liability with the traveling and shipping public, and the importance of safety to avoid tort liability.

TDT 104 - Interpersonal Relations and Defensive Driving 1

A study of human relations to enable the student to become more professional in relationships with customers, the public, and people in the motor carrier industry. The basic approach will be human interaction. The student will be introduced to driving skills and good habits needed for effective defensive driving and proper procedures for recording and reporting of accidents.

TDT 110 — Introduction to Basic Truck Unit 4

A study of the types, functions, and maintenance of engines, power trains, brakes, and related components found on current model transport trucks. The study of brakes will include inspection and adjusting of brake mechanisms for which certification as an air brake adjuster will be granted.

TDT 170 — Concourse Driving Practicum 4

To provide in a practicum learning experience, a basic skill level in all types of backing and parking configurations.

TDT 171 — Highway Driving 5

To provide in a practicum setting an entry level proficiency in driving a tractor/trailer in all modes of highway and city driving.
