President's Welcome
I am pleased to invite you to participate in the 2008 Commencement
Ceremony for Dickinson State University. Graduation is a time
to acknowledge your accomplishments, celebrate your success
and for us at Dickinson State University to convey our best
wishes to you and your loved ones as you continue your journey
through life. This is a milestone, not only for you as a graduate,
but for your parents, spouse and loved ones.
All graduates
are encouraged to participate in the Commencement ceremony,
which has been a tradition at Dickinson State University
for the past 89 years. Graduation is not only a time to recognize
an ending of your program of studies but also a time to recognize
a time for new beginnings. It is a time to honor old traditions
and to welcome new opportunities.
You have worked hard to achieve this milestone in your academic
career. You have faced many challenges along the way and come
to realize that dedication, and a passion for learning can
transform ideas and dreams into realities. You have established
a foundation which positions you well for your future, a future
based on a lifetime of learning. It is my pleasure to confer
your degrees and to celebrate with you at this most momentous
event.
