Community Ensembles
Community Ensembles consists of the Community Band and the Choral Union. Both ensembles are open to the public.
Community Band
The Community Band is an all-volunteer community group of amateur, semi-professional, and retired musicians of all ages in the Dickinson area. The band presents several concerts a year, playing a variety of music. The concerts are free and open to the public.
Interested musicians are encouraged to join the Community Band. To join, contact Dr. Steve Werpy, Director of the Community Band and Assistant Professor of Music at Dickinson State University in room 41 of May Hall or call (701) 483-2596.
 Choral Union
Choral Union is a community and student ensemble open to all. Choral Union performs primarily in the fall semester in a performance of a large seasonal choral work with orchestra. Choral Union performs the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah every two years. Other works performed have included Charpentier's Midnight Mass for Christmas and Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio. Choral Union meets Mondays from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m.
Choral Union is directed by Dr. Kenneth Williams, Associate Professor of Music and
Director of Choral Ensembles and Choral Methods. He can be reached in room 23 or May Hall or by calling (701) 483-2084.
