Programs
Dickinson State University has five degrees
that are available online.

BACHELOR OF UNIVERSITY STUDIES (BUS)
- Earn a Bachelor of University Studies Degree
in Liberal Arts by taking courses through
distance delivery from several campuses at
the same time while retaining the benefits
currently received by on-campus students.
- Affords students the opportunity to plan
their own curriculum
- Students can choose those courses that
seem most valuable and interesting to them
Requirements - All BUS students must:
- Complete 39 semester hours of General Education
courses (same General Education course requirements
as required for a baccalaureate degree);
- Earn a minimum of 128 semester hours of
credit;
- Earn at least 32 semester hour in upper-division
(300-400) courses
- Earn 32 hours from Dickinson State University.

BACHELOR OF APPLIED SCIENCE IN TECHNOLOGY (BAST)
- Allows students to add management courses
to their AAS degree
- Allows the technology portion of the first
degree to serve as the major for the bachelor’s
degree
- Enhances your current employment status
- Provides the foundation for future employment
opportunities that require a bachelor’s
degree for initial entrance or career advancement
- Gives the student the education necessary
to become a manager of technology
- Earn 32 hours from Dickinson State University.
Requirements - All BAST students must:
- Have an Associate of Applied Science degree
from an accredited institution before being
accepted into Bachelor of Applied Science
program
- Complete DSU general education coursework
OR the general education coursework form
another North Dakota University System Institution
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
- Learn fundamental concepts and tools of analysis in the core areas of business administration, accounting, economics, management, marketing and finance.
- Develop excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Develop analytical and critical-thinking skills necessary to make sound business and personal decisions.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the global environment of business and multi-cultural issues.
- Have significant dexterity with the use of computers and computer applications in business.
- Find work opportunities in the local, regional, state, and national and international labor markets.
- Take advantage of opportunities for growth within the academic environment and become participants in intellectual and social activities organized by student and community organizations.
Requirements – All BS in Business Administration students must:
- Complete 39 semester hours of General Education courses
Required as part of General Education (Must have a grade of “C” or better in each course.)
- ECON 201 – Principles of Microeconomics
- ENGL 110 – College Composition I
- ENGL 120 – College Composition II
- MATH 146 – Applied Calculus
- Select one course from the following:
- COMM 216 – Intercultural Communication
- SPAN 250 – Hispanic Civilization and Culture
- GEOG 262 – Geography of North America
- Spanish Cultural course accepted with the approval of the department chair
- Complete Level 1 courses with a “C” or better
- Complete Level 2 courses with a “C” or better
- A minor is required with the BS in Business Administration degree
- Currently the Management minor is available online
- Earn 32 hours from Dickinson State University.
ASSOCIATE IN ARTS DEGREE (AA)
- Earn an Associate in Arts Degree in Liberal
Arts by taking courses through distance delivery
from several campuses at the same time while
retaining the benefits currently received
by on-campus students.
- This general educations degree is considered
the primary degree for students who will
be pursuing a four-year degree in the future.
- Affords students the opportunity to plan
their own curriculum
- Students can choose those courses that
seem most valuable and interesting to them
Requirements - All AA students must:
- Complete 39 semester hours of General Education
courses (same General Education course requirements
as required for a baccalaureate degree);
- Earn a minimum of 64 semester hours of
credit;
- Earn 16 hours from Dickinson State University.
EQUINE
MANAGEMENT (AS in Agriculture Sales and Service)
- Dickinson State University, in partnership
with the Global Equine Academy, is offering
an Associate in Science Degree in Agriculture
Sales and Service, with an Option in Equine
Management
- The entire equine program can be completed
on-line with 8-week and 16-week formats.
Requirements - All AS in Equine Management students must:
- Earn a total of 68 credits to complete the degree
- Complete 39 semester hours of General Education courses (same General Education course requirements as required for a baccalaureate degree);
- Complete the 9 credits in Core Courses;
- Complete the 20 credits of Equine Management Courses;
- Earn 16 hours from Dickinson State University.
