volleyball programs in the country. The Hawks have won 3 of the last 4
regional volleyball tournaments, have participated in 3 of the last 4
NAIA National Championships and have not lost to a conference opponent
in 64 matches, a streak that dates back to 1996.
In the past 11 years, the Hawks have been honored with 11 All-American
awards, 25 All-Region selections and 38 All-Conference picks.

Hawks. Prior to coming to Dickinson State, she was head volleyball coach
at the University of Mary from 1987-90, compiling an 87-58 record and

in 1979 and 1982, and a conference championship basketball team in 1981.

Hawks. The Istanbul, Turkey native graduated from DSU in the fall of 2001
with a degree in business administration.Yilmaz played volleyball for
the Blue Hawks from 1996-00. She is arguably the best volleyball player
ever to suit up for the Hawks, or ever to play in the NAIA for that matter.
She was a four time NAIA All-American (twice receiving first team honors
and twice receiving second team honors). She was also an unprecidented
four time regional and conference player of the year. In 2000 she was
named NAIA national player of the year after she led Dickinson State to
its first ever national title. She is the only player (in any sport) at
Dickinson State to be named national player of the year. She finished
her career with over 2,000 kills and 2,000 digs, one of only a handful
of volleyball players ever to accomplish that feat. She ranks 2nd all
